Background:

Graver has implemented a superior design impeller to produce better hydraulic action and mixing in the draft tube or recirculation section of the Graver Reactivator.

Graver Reactivators designed before the mid-1980's were shipped with a straight bladed impeller, at the time, did a good job of combinig the raw water influent with chemicals to agglomaerate the suspended solids. Using the principles of the agitator impeller, Graver curved the impeller blades to provide more thrust and agitation.

Application:

The retrofit package can be of value to clients who want to achieve better recirculation results or process a higher throughput.

Advantages:

Previous testing done on these conversions have shown that the HE Impeller can increase flow through the Garver Reactivator while using the same or less power.

The new HE Impeller will improve suction and turbulence in the central draft tube which provides for better mixing of chemicals. This in turn will enhance precipitate recirculation and floc formation.

Benefits:

• New HE impeller is the same size as the original.
• Improved chemical mixing in the draft tube resulting in enhanced precipitate recirculation and floc formation.
• Can reduce power consumption at the existing throughput.
• Can increase Reactivator throughput without increasing recirculatior power consumption.
